Typical CPPP Weekend Event
The CPPP weekend offers participants a selection of ground courses, optional flight instruction segments with some of the most experienced Cirrus instructors, a Partner-in-Command program for non-pilot right seat companions, an extensively expanded simulator laboratory, and all meals including a Friday night welcome reception and a Saturday night dinner. Event times are Friday beginning at 6:00pm through Sunday concluding at 3:00pm. See a sample schedule under the Sample Schedule Tab.
The knowledge courses contain expanded content for 2017 from the colleges of COPA University. Notable are expanded and updated courses on common avionics, weather, procedures, decision-making and aircraft systems.
The John Leber Memorial Simulator Laboratory - using a customized version of the FlyThisSim desktop simulator - incorporates procedures from the Flight Operations Manual by Cirrus Aircraft. The sim lab complements the knowledge courses and provides several simulated scenarios. Participants will experience IFR flights that went wrong because of lack of proficiency and understand the importance of being prepared for the unexpected. They then will have the opportunity to fly a challenging IFR scenario to increase their knowledge and proficiency. You may reserve a sim slot during registration.
The CPPP offers a Partner-in-Command course on Saturday morning. The PIC course has received rave reviews from partners who leave better prepared to survive an emergency and help their flying partner. Many CPPP participants wish they had invited their partners because of the positive impact on their partners. Partners will also receive a sim session for hands-on practice of what they learned in the PIC course. For additional information on the PIC course, click HERE.
